Signature Flight Support officially unveiled its new $33 million FBO complex at London Luton Airport last week with a themed gala charity casino event benefitting a local elderly-support organization. The BBA Aviation subsidiary, which traces its heritage at the airport back 70 years, now has the most modern service facilty at Luton, with a 48,437-sq-ft/4,500-sq-m hangar capable of sheltering a pair of bizliners at the same time, a dedicated ground service equipment bay and 75,347 sq ft/7,000 sq m of parking ramp with secure vehicle access.
The new 16,920-sq-ft/1,572-sq-m terminal provides a covered arrivals area to protect passengers from inclement weather and offers conference rooms, catering facilities, a full bar and a slate of crew and passenger amenities.
“We are delighted to officially open the new Signature Luton facility, which is ready to welcome customers from around the world,” said company president and COO Maria Sastre, who was joined at the event by BBA Aviation chairman Sir Nigel Rudd and BBACEO Simon Pryce. “Our relationship with London Luton Airport is exemplary and their support of this project was essential to its success. As proud members of the Luton community, we will continue to support its development for years to come.”
