New Jersey-based aviation services provider Meridian has completed its expansion to the West Coast with the December 15 grand opening of its new FBO facility at San Francisco-area Hayward Executive Airport. The holiday-themed gala event featured a successful “Toys-for-Tots” charity drive in coordination with the U.S. Marine Corps.
What is described as phase one of the new location features a 6,300-sq-ft terminal with a business center, conference room, pilot briefing area, pilot lounge, coffee bar, kitchen, snooze room, shower and locker facility, onsite car rental and crew cars. It also includes a 30,000-sq-ft hangar capable of sheltering the latest class of ultra-long-range business jets, and 3.5 acres of ramp space.
“This event marks the beginning of a new chapter for our company,” said Meridian CEO Ken Forester. “We are very excited to have been able to celebrate our grand opening during the holiday season with our colleagues and friends.”
According to the company, which has a 50-year lease on the property, subsequent development will include an additional 80,000 sq ft of hangar space, seven more acres of apron, and another 12,000 sq feet of terminal.
